About

Lynne Harvey-Allan (A.K.A. “Lynne Lewis”) holds diplomas in Piano Performing and Class Music Teaching.

After teaching in secondary schools for five years, Lynne embarked on a professional singing career. She studied singing for many years with the renowned Winifred Busfield, M.B.E and now combines this with her busy piano and singing teaching practice. She also keeps up to date with the occasional bout of school teaching.

Lynne is an established soloist in Oratorio, Concert,  Recital and Musical Theatre and has performed in venues throughout Scotland, as far north as Orkney and as far south as Kelso;  including the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire and Pollock House in Glasgow.  Theatre venues include the “Playhouse”, Edinburgh, the “Byre”, St. Andrews and “His Majesty’s”, Aberdeen.

She has given concerts in England and the U.S.A., appearing in Boston and Rhode Island and has broadcast on New York cable television and radio.

For many years; Lynne, along with her husband; Lewis Allan (Bass-baritone) and accompanist, David Murray, known as “Note-Ability”, gave over fifty concerts per year in hospitals, nursing homes and hospices, the length and breadth of Scotland under the auspices of “Music in Hospitals”.

Lynne performs regularly in Cabaret and is also in demand as a Wedding Singer, about which she feels very honoured; being able to make the bride and bridegrooms’ special day particularly meaningful and memorable.
